  • Twitter users criticized President Donald Trump for continuing to make baseless claims of voter fraud

President Donald Trump once again falsely claimed Wednesday that massive voter fraud occurred during the election, triggering criticism from social media users.

Taking it to Twitter Wednesday, the POTUS claimed that the states want to “redo” their votes because legislatures never approved of those votes. “The States want to redo their votes. They found out they voted on a FRAUD. Legislatures never approved. Let them do it. BE STRONG!” Trump wrote.

All the states have certified their results as “fair and accurate,” the Associated Press reported. Election officials as well as former Attorney General William Barr confirmed there was no systematic fraud and no errors that could potentially change the outcome of the election.

Trump's tweet did not sit well with social media users as they blasted the outgoing president for making a mockery of American democracy.

“That’s not true and that’s not how our constitution works. Your humiliating defeat will be certified today by your own vice-president,” one user commented.

“No, they don’t. You don’t get to choose the president. WE, Americans, choose our president,” @MsBellaSteele wrote.

“No, they don’t. You want them to redo the vote. Your panic is palpable. Watching the 'president’ of America try and rip democracy to shreds, in broad daylight, is a sight to behold,” @JayLionel7 wrote.

“Every state has certified its election results. It’s over. Time to stop crying and at least try to act like an American and president,” another user added.

Another user said that Trump is in a state of denial even after 62 lawsuits filed to challenge the presidential election were thrown out by the court.

“Even after 62 lawsuits with NO EVIDENCE. They were all thrown out. NO EVIDENCE – NO CASE. Total VOTES were recounted. And in some cases multiple times – with no difference in the count,” @Dragonfly_Drama tweeted.

Trump's tweet came before rioters breached the Capitol and entered the Senate building. Twitter has already locked his account for 12 hours for inciting violence and making false claims.

The tech giant also announced that Trump’s account will stay locked until he deletes the three tweets.

“Future violations of the Twitter Rules, including our Civic Integrity or Violent Threats policies, will result in permanent suspension of the @realDonaldTrump account,” Twitter stated.
