It may only be a matter of time before a Mike Tyson vs. Evander Holyfield III is announced.

Holyfield bared that talks have been progressing between both camps, raising the chances of a much-clamored ring encounyer happening soon.

"I'm a very confident person," he said to TMZ Sports. "I think it's gonna happen."

“We’ve definitely had conversations with them. It looks like it’s going to happen,” Holyfield added. “Let’s do it, baby. Simple as that. Let’s do it.”

"The Real Deal" took a swipe at Tyson after the 54-year-old’s bout against Roy Jones Jr. Originally, it was Holyfield who was position to duke it out with "The Baddest Man on the Planet.” However, negotiations for a rubber match did not go well.

Tyson alleged that the reason why the third meeting with his old arch-nemesis never happened was that the backers of the two sides failed to reach an agreement.

The Brooklyn native maintained that he is interested in running it back with Holyfield, and he believes the best way to get it done is if both of them personally discuss it.

Holyfield branded Tyson's exhibition versus Jones as a mere tune-up. With that now over and done with, the former champion stressed that his rival has no more excuses to face him next.

“My side tried to make the fight happen and we got nothing but excuses,” Holyfield said in an official press release from Aaron Bronsteter. “Now I can see why he wanted a tune-up fight before thinking about fighting me.”

Tyson was impressive in his ring return, and most felt he won over Jones. He appeared ready to clock in more rounds that night but later admitted that he felt exhaustion.

Regardless, Tyson vows to lace up a pair of gloves again and stick to exhibition matches. For him, fighting for charity is way better than competing for a championship belt.

With Holyfield stepping up and wanting to tangle with Tyson, that could prove to be more lucrative.
