Vive Flow: Immersive VR Device Brings XR Entertainment To Car Passengers

Virtual Reality platform HTC Vive has partnered with Extended Reality (XR) startup Holoride to launch the Vive Flow at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC). The partnership introduces Vive Flow, which is a new ride-ready immersive VR device that allows users to experience XR in vehicles.

It uses the immersive technology of Holoride to deliver virtual reality entertainment to car passengers. The device is lightweight, compact, and designed to bring users to an imaginative world loaded with content.

Its contents vary from 2D virtual worlds, games, movies to real-time 3D (RT3D). It also blends key technologies like location, navigation data, as well as hyper-immersive experiences to allow users to journey through massive virtual creations and watch movies.

Vive Flow weighs 189 grams and features a dual-hinge folding design for ultimate portability and comfort. While it can fit the palm, it delivers a different level of entertainment for its users.

Users wearing Vive Flow can navigate and maneuver the virtual worlds with the same gestures in conventional Virtual Reality devices. The device also features advanced cinema mode that allows users to experience 2D content on a virtual, motion-synced screen privately.

The VR glasses are the first Holoride-ready device for car integration. It is set to officially release sometime in the second half of 2022. Vive Flow is the apparent candidate HTC will use to let users dive into its version of the Metaverse called Viverse.

Vive Flow VR glasses will allow users to move seamlessly between various virtual venues in the Viverse, including Vive Engage, Vive Sync, among others.
