Daniel Bonjour is thrilled to be part of CW’s “iZombie.”

Shortly after it was announced that Bonjour has been cast in Season 4 of the Rose McIver-led series, the “Walking Dead” alum took to Instagram to express how glad he is to have joined the show. “So excited to join the #iZombie team!” he wrote. “A great group of people and can’t wait for everyone to see what they have in store for Season 4!”

According to TVLine, Bonjour will recur as Levon, a documentary filmmaker chronicling Seattle’s undead reality.

In the Season 3 finale, Chase Graves (Jason Dohring) revealed to the world that zombies are living among humans. But in an attempt to prevent any tension between the living and the undead, Chase assured the human population that the zombies will stay in Seattle — as long as some of the dead donate their brains to keep them fed.

Interestingly, there are also people outside of the city who would like enter the zombie capital. In fact, Levon is making a story about human smugglers, who are bringing terminally ill humans into the walled city to get scratched, and thus evade permanent death by becoming a zombie.

Bonjour played the role of Aiden Monroe in Season 5 of “The Walking Dead.” The 36-year-old South African actor was a series regular on The CW’s “Frequency,” and appeared on other TV shows, including “Flaked,” “Teen Wolf” and “Satisfaction.”

Major plot details about Season 4 of “iZombie” are being kept under wraps, but executive producer Rob Thomas told TVLine last June that the upcoming installment will start with a “story about corruption.” While Thomas didn’t offer additional info about the corruption story, he did reveal that “there are barely enough brains coming in to Seattle to feed zombies” at the beginning of the new season so members of the undead are “going hungry.”

Wealthy zombies, however, won’t seemingly run out of brains, because as Thomas previously revealed, Blaine (David Anders) is going to run a black market for brains.“I will say that Blaine is like a pig in slop this [upcoming] season,” Thomas told TV Guide. “New Seattle is the perfect city for him. When there’s a thriving black market, odds are, Blaine is doing well. And the black market is alive and well in Seattle. Whole brains are worth their weight in gold, and Blaine has a pipeline to them and a handshake deal with Chase Graves to leave him alone. He’s raking it in.”

“iZombie” Season 4 will premiere midseason on The CW.
