If you thought the Potterverse was pure fiction, think again. Potterheads who are interested in translating the written word into their everyday lives now have a new way to do so thanks to a college course designed around the work. Where can you find it?

According to Metro, a class titled "An Interface Between Fantasy Fiction Literature and Law: Special Focus on Rowling's Potterverse" has been available since 2018. Students at the National University of Juridical Sciences in Kolkata can now enroll in the class that focuses on the magical universe and encourages "creative thinking."

As for the curriculum, it is said to mix "both Indian and wizardry legal terms and principles to all sorts of fun topics such as 'unforgivable curses' - torture, murder, and possession of another person, along with the rules of Quidditch and the alleged murder of Sirius Black."

Additionally, the offering reportedly explores the unique ways that the novel's creatures, ranging from centaurs to giants, are "marginalized by mainstream society and how magical newspaper, The Daily Prophet, has become an outlet for propaganda."

This would not be the first time that a college course has centered on the popular work of author J.K. Rowling. Also in 2018, a class at UC Santa Cruz called "LIT 80Y: Harry Potter" sprang up to the delight of students. According to assistant professor Renee Fox, it was so popular that they have since decided to bring it back sometime in the near future.
