  • Draymond Green is arguably the best trash-talker in modern-day NBA, according to Warriors coach Steve Kerr
  • Kerr commented on Green's notable trash-talking in a new interview
  • The Dubs power forward thinks Kevin Durant is also a relentless trash-talker

A Golden State Warriors star has been making a name for himself in a unique way.

Draymond Green is one of the most outspoken players in the league at present and always makes sure that his teammates and even the opposing team hear what he has to say.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is well aware of it. In fact, Kerr is certain Green’s trash-talking game is around the same level as those of NBA legends Michael Jordan and Larry Bird.

“Trash talkers, he [Green] is right near the top,” Kerr told NBC Sports in a recent episode of “Dubs Talk” podcast. “Michael Jordan was a big-time trash talker. Larry Bird from what I gathered was a trash talker.”

“Draymond is relentless on the sidelines,” he continued. “I think especially when he’s not playing. He just needs to be engaged and involved in the game. So he will start picking on some poor guy out there, literally a couple of times I’ve turned to my coaches and said ‘Why is Draymond picking on that guy? Poor guy, he doesn’t deserve it.’ But Draymond just needs to be involved. He loves it.”

Over the years, there have been a host of former NBA players who shared their Jordan trash-talk experience. Former Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas, for instance, once heard Jordan tell the late Kobe Bryant that he can wear his shoes, Air Jordans, but he could “never fill them.”

Former New York Knicks forward Larry Johnson, on the other hand, said Jordan mentioned the name of his mother the very first time they played against each other. What bothered Johnson was that his mother never actually met “His Airness.”

As for Green, he openly acknowledges the reputation he has earned. However, he insisted that his former Warriors co-star Kevin Durant should also be mentioned in the conversation.

“I've always told people KD is one of the biggest trash talkers to me since I came into the league," Green said on “The Draymond Green Show” in December 2021.

"And it would be like disrespectful stuff, like 'Ay, who is this?' KD would turn the dude around like trying to look at the back of his jersey like to see the name on the back,” he continued. “K would say stuff to people and you're like, yo, you're Kevin Durant. There's not much I can say back.”

Green went on to divulge that “there’s not really much they can say back” to Durant simply because he’s one of the greatest players in the league.
