Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew divorced in 1996 after just 10 years of marriage. But it seems that they have always maintained a close relationship with each other.

While speaking with Daily Star, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that the Duke and Duchess of York never really left each other. “They have always been close and always got on. I hope that continues but I’ll by no means be convinced that there would be popular support for them to remarry,” he said.

By the looks of it, the royal expert simply meant that Ferguson and Prince Andrew have stayed amicable towards each other after they divorced, possibly because of their kids. However, their divorce really happened, and they have not gotten back together officially.

Despite their close friendship, there are talks suggesting that Prince Andrew and Ferguson can never wed each other again due to one member of the royal family. As of late, Prince Philip still hasn’t forgiven Ferguson for the shame she brought to the British clan.

And even after the Duke of Edinburgh passes away, marrying each other again may not be an option for the former couple. After all, tying the knot shortly after Queen Elizabeth II’s husband’s death may still be deemed as disrespectful and inappropriate.

Meanwhile, there have also been reports suggesting that Prince Philip is not the real roadblock in Prince Andrew and Ferguson’s relationship. Rather, the problem is actually Prince Charles.

“Charles is not OK with Fergie. He can’t stand her in reality… They don’t get on personally… There’s so much baggage because he feels she sided with Diana over Camilla all those years ago,” a source told The Sun.

Ferguson used to have a close relationship with Princess Diana. In fact, they were dubbed as royal best friends. But shortly after Ferguson wed Prince Andrew, Princess Diana became jealous of her. Fergie was seen as the fun royal, while Princess Diana appeared to be serious and boring.
