“We’ve been excited to see the "Wasteland 3" Beta so well received, but the reality is that with these new logistical challenges our release was going to be impacted.”

Moreover, Fargo emphasized that they will be using the extended time to work on the needed fixes and suggestions they got from their recent beta test. The game director specifically noted they are working on “optimization, polishing and refinements” while making sure the game brings an “awesome co-op experience.”

As reported by Polygon, "Wasteland 3" got a $3.12 million funding in 2016 through the crowdfunding platform Fig. InXile Entertainment, wherein Fargo serves as studio head, then partnered with Deep Silver to publish the game.

Unlike its predecessor "Wasteland 2" which took place in the Arizona desert, the upcoming version of the cult classic will reportedly be set in a different part of post-apocalyptic America. The role-playing video game has been popular for its narrative and the fact that the player’s decisions will have an impact on how the story develops.

"Wasteland 3" is slated to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mac, Windows PC and Linux.
