The countdown for the much-awaited Oscar/ 84th annual Academy Awards has begun. It will be aired from Kodak Theatre, Calif., Feb. 26.

Every year, millions of viewers watch the biggest award ceremony all round the world. Well, if you are still wondering where to catch live glimpse of the star-studded evening, here is excellent news.

For the first time in history, the ceremony will be livestreamed online (on oscar2012live.com). The telecast will begin at 7:00 p.m ET / 4:00 p.m. PT.

According to watchoscars2012onlinelive.com, the presentation will be aired on ABC, starting 7:00 p.m. ET.

Several other sites and television channels have also programmed live coverage of Oscar red carpet arrivals, awards and backstage events. Specifically for red carpet arrivals, one can tune in to E! Live at 5:30 p.m. ET/ 2:30 p.m. PT. It will also live stream a companion show starting 5:15 p.m./ 2:15 p.m. PT.

The nine-time Oscar presenter, Billy Crystal, will host the ceremony. Other live presenters include Christian Bale, Halle Berry, Rose Byrne, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, J.Lo, Emma Stone, Penelope Cruz, Bradley Cooper, Kristen Wiig, Cameron Diaz, Michael Douglas, Tom Hanks, Milla Jovovich and several others.
