According to various reports Monday, surveillance footage showed of a group of young men storm into an Apple store in Fresno, California, and steal $27,000 worth of the company’s products.

The incident is thought to have occurred Saturday morning in broad daylight at the Apple store at Fashion Fair Mall and is being investigated by the Fresno Police Department, the Fresno Bee reported.

"They were going through people and just grabbing stuff," said Lt. Rob Beckwith who added it occurred around 11.30 a.m. local time (2.30 p.m. EDT). Beckwith said the police were now looking for four men.

Initially the police had thought it was an armed robbery but later it was concluded there were no weapons involved. Nonetheless, due to the value of the products stolen the robbery was described as “a large grand theft.”

Lt. Mark Hudson of Fresno Police Department, speaking to ABC30, said the loot involved "Various iPhones, the iPhone 6, iPhone 7 and 8, and even the new iPhone X was taken in this grand theft," 23 ABC News reported.

In the video the four young men are seen storming into the store and ripping the electronic items from their display tables so as to detach them and in a matter of seconds head back out, much to the shock and fear of some teenage girls in the center aisle. Laptops being ripped out of their display units are clearly visible in the footage.

A couple of customers attempt to get them to stop with a more serious effort by a man who tried blocking the doorway.

"One customer stood by the door to prevent them from leaving but was knocked out of the way," Hudson said. "Right now we are looking for four, or five, we believe there was a getaway driver, black males anywhere from 16 to 18 years old."

Hudson also said "There are other reports, of other places, other cities in California that have had these kinds of takeover thefts."

"So we are looking into (this crime) being connected to other crimes, at any other Apple Stores outside of Fresno,” he added.

The suspects drove off in a white sedan, Beckwith said. According to the Fresno Bee, no injuries were reported and the store remained open.
