Mike Esterman clapped back at ex Wendy Williams after the talk show host shaded him on national TV.

The Maryland-based contractor quickly reacted to the Hollywood personality’s claim on her talk show that he’s childish when he opened up about their split to the press.

“Of course she has to have the last word, and because she is the kind of person that she is, she’s the only thing that will make herself look best,” he told Page Six Wednesday.

Esterman made his statement after hearing about his ex’s comments on him from other people since he has not seen the episode where Williams dissed him over his post-split interview because he was “too busy” with his work.

On her show, Williams threw some major shade at Esterman by saying that she did not mention anything to the public about their failed romance because she’s “that grown.”

“I didn’t say anything [publicly about it] because I’m that grown. We would’ve had this discussion way behind the scenes. I am not embarrassed because I’m that grown. But since childish ones — Mike — well he’s giving quotes,” the 56-year-old celebrity said.

Despite calling Esterman “childish,” Williams maintained that he is “a nice guy” and admitted that the distance between them really took a toll on their relationship. Williams is based in New York while Esterman resides and has work in Maryland.

In his post-split interview, Esterman said that he and Williams “drifted apart” quickly because of their busy schedules and the distance between them. He even said that his ex “deserves to be with someone who may have more time.”

In his latest interview, Esterman reiterated that it was really hard for him to commit to a full-blown romance with Williams because they were just too busy with their separate careers.

“All that I said was I had no time to make any plans when people kept asking when we [would] see each other again and they took that as a major breakup, which I didn’t even think we had that big of a relationship to begin with other than getting to know each other on a few dates,” he explained.

In another interview with The Sun, Esterman disclosed that it was really hard for them to find time to meet up because he’s been very busy with his work. He even said that he would not hold Williams back from meeting other people.

“Nobody called it a day, there's just no time to meet up. We talk when we can. I can't hold her back from meeting someone who can give her more. She's allowed to meet others, we're not in that type of relationship. She will find someone,” he was quoted as saying by the outlet.

Williams and Esterman met when the latter took part in the dating segment on the former’s talk show. He won the competition, and so they decided to go out shortly after.

They had their first date in March, and Williams proudly shared that they kissed at the time. The following month, Williams went to Maryland to spend time with Esterman and they visited several places together including the Cheesecake Factory and Mike’s Crab House. They also went to Washington DC’s Ben’s Chili Bowl one time.
