Get ready to enter the doors of Keyhouse when the supernatural series “Locke & Key” makes its series debut on Netflix on Feb. 7, 2020. Based on the graphic novels by Joe Hill, Season 1 stars Jackson Robert Scott, Connor Jessup, and Emilia Jones as the Locke siblings.

As reported by Deadline, Hill announced the release date news on Twitter on Wednesday alongside a poster for the series.

Also starring Darby Stanchfield, Sherri Saum, and Griffin Gluck, the series follows a family that moves into their ancestral home of Keyhouse after the patriarch’s mysterious death. The Locke children discover different keys that unlock their special abilities while an ancient demon comes out of hiding to steal them.

Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill are among the dozens of producers developing the series for Netflix. The two of them will also be serving as co-showrunners for the supernatural drama series. Filming took place in early February to July in Toronto.

“Locke & Key” has been in development for years trying to get adapted into television after plans for a feature film. Fox was the first network to develop the series, but it didn’t go past the pilot in 2011. In 2017, Hulu ordered a pilot for the series with Frances O’Connor cast as Nina. However, the streamer decided to pass on the show.

The original graphic novels by Hill ran in the publication from 2008 to 2013 for the main series. The series was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2009 for Best Limited Series with Hill also getting a nomination for Best Writer. Other than “Locke & Key,” Hill’s previous work "NOS4A2" was also adapted into an AMC series earlier this year.

Tune into “Locke & Key” when the first season drops on Netflix on Feb. 7, 2020.
