A 22-year-old pub worker, who was found dead after she went missing on Christmas Eve in London, died from a stab wound to the abdomen and a head injury, reports said Friday. Iuliana Tudos was reportedly attacked while walking through Finsbury Park, on the northern edge of Inner London, authorities said.

A murder investigation was launched and police were trying to determine who killed Tudos. According to the Daily Mail, a homeless man was suspected to have attacked Tudos. Officers are reportedly "working to piece together a timeline."

Tudos was last seen in the Camden Road area at 8 p.m. local time (1 a.m. EST) Christmas Eve after an evening out, according to reports. She told her friends she was catching a bus to her home in Finsbury Park, and meet them later on in Enfield — but she never showed up. She was wearing glasses and was carrying a black and white fabric bag with "Fighting against Animal Testing" written on it when she went missing.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall told the Independent that it appeared Tudos was attacked on Christmas Eve.

“But we want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in that part of Finsbury Park over the Christmas period,” she added. “We are still trying to piece together a timeline of events and are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry as regards to a motive.”

According to the Daily Mail, a forensic team examined a tent, which belonged to a homeless man, and a purple suitcase found inside.

One of Tudos’ neighbors said he often saw the young girl walk through the Finsbury Park to get home.

"We all walk through the park a lot so for this to happen so close is very scary,’ he said. ‘It’s so sad, she was so young."

Serena Mendes, 36, who lives close to the crime scene, said: "I walk here a lot with my children and it can be very dangerous at night. There is not much light on the footpaths, especially down towards the old cricket pavilion. It is very frightening to see all the police activity now."

Tudos was of Russian and Greek origin and was originally from Moscow, police reportedly said. She worked at the World’s End pub near Camden High Street.

“She was a very nice person, young and gorgeous,” neighbor Sebastian Jonathan told the Independent. “I met her twice when she came over for beers when we had barbecues last summer.”
