Before tonight’s big Super Bowl 2019 game between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams can begin, viewers will get to hear one of the most iconic singers perform the National Anthem.

Grammy Award-winning singer Gladys Knight has been tapped for the annual gig. With more than a couple dozen studio albums between her solo projects and her work as part of Gladys Knight & the Pips, Knight has made quite the name for herself over the years, and she continues to do so.

Aside from singing the National Anthem before Super Bowl 53 starts at 6:30 p.m. EST, Knight’s been on TV for some other things recently. Last year, she played Lou’s (Chi McBride) mother on “Hawaii Five-0” and, in 2017, she played a version of herself on Fox’s “Star.” Plus, there’s a chance she’s a contestant on Fox’s new reality series, “The Masked Singer.”

The new competition show sees masked celebrities singing against each other, with one star being unmasked at the end of each episode. There are clues shared about each masked singer, giving fans the chance to guess who’s inside each costume. With all the clues given about competitor Bee, it’s likely that Knight’s the celebrity singing inside the mask. Fans will just have to keep watching the show each week to find out if that ends up being true.

In the meantime, fans can see Knight (sans mask) singing the National Anthem during the Super Bow LIII pregame show tonight, before the game at 6:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
