“Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik recently shared the real reason why she’s on a month-long vocal rest.

In a video she posted on Instagram, Bialik said that she sprained her vocal chords. Despite not being able to speak at the moment, Bialik still did her best to make her video post as interesting and informative as possible. Filmed by her eldest son, Miles Stone, the award-winning actress typed the message that her son read out loud to her fans. Bialik also posted a photo of herself while waiting for her turn at the doctor’s via Twitter.

Two months ago, Bialik and her “Big Bang Theory” co-star, Melissa Rauch, inked new deals for the upcoming two seasons of the hit CBS series. According to Variety, both actresses will be receiving hefty pay raises compared to what they used to get since they joined the sitcom in Season 3. Bialik and Rauch will now be making $500,000 per episode.

Ahead of the two-year contract renewal, reports swirled that Bialik and Rauch’s other co-stars, namely, Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, have volunteered to cut their per-episode fee of $1 million to just $900,000 to be able to give Bialik and Rauch a raise. But last month, Bialik clarified that there’s no truth to such claims.

While speaking with People, the actress said, “You shouldn’t believe everything you read. I’m happy to report that we have a very cohesive cast and we all know that our strength is together. We all really love each other, we love going to work and we’re excited to do two more seasons.”

“Big Bang Theory” Season 10 wrapped up last month with a major cliffhanger. Sheldon (Parsons) proposed to Amy (Bialik) after sort of cheating on her. The final moments in Season 10, episode 24, titled “The Long Distance Dissonance,” will be continued in Season 11, episode 1. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not Amy will say yes to Sheldon’s proposal and if Sheldon will be honest about what happened to him and Ramona (Riki Lindhome).

“Big Bang Theory” Season 11 will premiere on CBS on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. EST.
