John Mayer just might be the one that got away for Katy Perry — the couple is apparently over.

According to reports from Us Weekly on Tuesday, the powerhouse pop couple’s hot relationship has run cold for the second time.

Perry, 28, began dating Lothario Mayer, 35, during the summer of 2012.

Fans of the “I Kissed A Girl” singer were wary when the two started dating since Mayer has been known to go through women like tissue paper.

The “Wonderland” singer has been linked to Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and even American sweetheart Taylor Swift.

Reports claimed their relationship was over by the end of the summer, but in October the two were photographed together.

It seemed like things were getting really serious when Perry brought Mayer home to her Christian minister parents for the holidays and by Valentine’s Day the rumor mill began to predict the two would be wed soon.

Mayer even confessed he was “quite happy” with Perry during an interview with Rolling Stone.

But a Perry-Mayer union will not be happening, alas; the rumor mill got it wrong once again.

Us Weekly cited multiple sources that claims the stars’ relationship is kaput.

"It's sad," said one insider who believes the break is permanent. "It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out."

But one source believes Perry and Mayer are just taking a break.

"She's leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work."

Perry, who finalized her divorce from British comedian and actor Russell Brand in February 2012, recently tweeted about being happy with Mayer.

On March 2 she wrote to her nearly 34 million Twitter followers, "My boyfriend is taking me to a kitten shelter in his truck… I can't think of a more perfect Saturday."

But on Monday it seemed she had been dealing with some turmoil from what she tweeted.

"ATTENTION: Mercury is OUT of retrograde today. Thank GOD," Perry wrote.
