“General Hospital” fans look forward to their daily dose of Port Charles drama while being stuck indoors due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Fridays may be tough for “GH” fans because encore episodes will be aired for the foreseeable future.

Since the show is no longer in production to protect the health of the cast and crew, every week, ABC will share a flashback Friday episode. The move was made to preserve as many new episodes as possible until production of the soap opera can resume.

Unfortunately for fans of the show, flashback Fridays may not be ending anytime soon. On Thursday, William deVry, who plays Julian Jerome on “General Hospital,” replied to a fan on Twitter who was curious about whether production would resume on April 30th. “Def not,” the actor tweeted.

However, deVry encouraged the fan to remain positive about the possibility of new episodes. “I hope we can get everyone back to work soon. I will let @valentinifrank update you guys. I wish I had the magic wand,” he wrote.

When Daytime Confidential suggested the star shared a “GH” production update, deVry clarified his comment. “I really didn't. I said April 30th is def not happening as we are city lockdown until May 15th. Not so much a GH update. I also said to check with @valentinifrank for accurate info,” he replied.

For now, fans who tune into the ABC soap opera on Friday during its usual time slot will be able to watch “General Hospital” Season 55, episode 198.

“Julian offers his support; Sonny receives a mysterious text message; Kiki is a bundle of nerves; Franco looks to repay a favor; Griffin offers words of encouragement,” the synopsis reveals.

New episodes of “General Hospital” are expected to resume on Monday, April 20 at 3 p.m. EDT on ABC.
