Rupert Grint started his career by playing Ron Weasley in the “Harry Potter” franchise, but don’t expect him to sit down for a Harry Potter Weekend any time soon. The actor revealed he can only handle watching the first three movies in the franchise.

“I think those early ones are OK,” Grint told Radio Times. “More time has passed. I can detach myself a bit more from that kid. I did see ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ not long ago, for the first time since the premiere, and I actually enjoyed looking back,” he said.

“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” as U.S. fans know it, hit theaters in November 2001 when Grint was just 13 years old. The actor thinks the last five movies in the eight-film franchise would be too difficult to sit through. The final movie was released in July 2011, just before Grint turned 23.

“But the more recent ones I definitely couldn’t do,” he added. “I could probably go up to [third film] ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.’”

Now 30, Grint has moved on to other projects. He is currently promoting “The ABC Murders,” a miniseries based on one of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot novels. John Malkovich plays the detective while Grint portrays Inspector Crome. It premieres in the U.S. on Amazon Prime on Feb. 1.
