Rumors started swirling last week that Beyonce would be showing up to the the 2018 Grammys on Sunday in New York City to support her husband, Jay-Z, who was nominated for eight awards, which is why fans started to get a little worried when they didn’t spot the superstar at the start of the show.

While the 36-year-old singer didn’t walk the red carpet, she did eventually show up to the award show, with her daughter Blue Ivy, and sat right in one of the front rows with Jay-Z. Not only did she wear a cut-up black dress and black heels, but she also rocked black sunglasses and a floppy black hat that had everyone on social media talking.

The other thing that had her fans gossiping on Twitter was about why she was late to the Grammys, with many of them speculating it was because she was finishing up her hair, which she switched up from last night’s slick high ponytail to the Roc Nation pre-Grammy party to full-on braids.

“The real question is when did Beyonce find time to get box braids,” Twitter user jazzzDOPE asked, while another, user ToriJoi, promised everyone on the social platform that her braids are probably why she was late and she was far from alone with that thought.

No matter why she was late, fans are just happy that she showed up at all and that she showed up in true Beyonce fashion, with Twitter account Hood Vogue sharing what many are likely thinking, which is that “we love a celebrity who can switch it up.”
