Brace yourselves because Netflix is officially making a “Beverly Hills Cop 4”-- and Eddie Murphy will also be making a return as the beloved Axel Foley.

According to an exclusive from Deadline, Netflix and Paramount have forged a one-time license deal giving Netflix the rights to develop the movie, with the option of a sequel. Not only will the deal see them getting Murphy back, but it will also see the return of original producer Jerry Bruckheimer as well.

“Beverly Hills Cop” originally came out in 1984 and was heavily praised by viewers. The movie made around $15 million during its opening weekend and about $316.5 million total worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Sequels were later released in 1987 and 1994.

Paramount has tried to make another sequel to “Beverly Hills Cop” for a few years, even trying a TV series but never “quite made it to the start line,” Deadline reported.

This will also be the second Netflix film overall for Murphy. The first one, “Dolemite Is My Name,” was released on Oct. 25, and is a true story about struggling comedian Rudy Ray Moore, who “hits it big with his raunchy alter ego, Dolemite, then risks it all to take his act to the big screen,” according to the movie's description.

Paramount will also have Murphy give life to another old character, Prince Akeem, in a sequel to “Coming To America.” This is set to come out in 2020.
