Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has not yet offered any new update related to the highly anticipated "The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2" but while fans expect the game to roll out this year, rumors have it that the game could be delayed to 2023.

Nintendo unveiled "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" at the E3 2019 and confirmed that the sequel is in development. While other industry insiders earlier said that the game could release sometime this year, the insider who goes by the name Samus Hunter provided a new piece of information on the game's release window.

On Twitter, the insider, Samus Hunter, suggested that while Nintendo is silent, they do not think the game would be delayed to 2023. But, if the game would be delayed, they are confident the company would announce this in the next few months.

"Just to talk I want to express my thoughts on the possibility of postponing the sequel of BotW to 2023. At the moment I see it difficult, Nintendo wants to aim for a release for this year, but if for some reason, the launch should be postponed, the final decision will be taken around April, with a possible announcement in early May at most, because usually, this happens," the insider said in a tweet.

"So right now it's a topic that doesn't make as much sense to discuss but it will certainly be interesting to see how Nintendo will handle the title announcements," they added.

Nintendo released a new trailer at the E3 2021, which features actual gameplay footage. Along with it is the confirmation of the game's 2022 release window. Series producer Eiji Aonuma said at the time that the team was working hard on the sequel's development but fans will "have to wait a bit longer before we can provide more updates."

The major reason why fans speculate that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" could be delayed is due to Nintendo's deafening silence on the game, including the latest development updates, as well as its release date. It is worth noting that while the insider has offered accurate information about Nintendo in the past, the latest information is not official.
