What happens to Prince Harry’s spot in line to the crown if Prince William and Kate Middleton keep on having babies?

One netizen wondered about Prince Harry’s succession to the throne if his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Middleton, keep on adding more children to their brood. The online user took to Quora to find answers.

According to Nick Hodgson, Prince Harry will go further down the line if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have more kids. In addition, when Prince William and Middleton’s kids start to have their own family, he will be pushed further down the line of succession. Thus, he is unlikely to become king in the process.

For example, Prince Andrew was second in line to the throne when he was born (being the second of the Queen as girls were always behind boys in the direct line of succession in those days). When Prince Charles welcomed Prince William, he slipped to third. When Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s second son, Prince Harry, was born, the Duke of York was down to the fourth spot.

Prince William has three kids with Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, which puts Prince Andrew to the seventh spot. The Duke of York will further move down the line as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle expand their family. The same will happen to Prince Harry.

“When William starts having grandchildren, Harry will move further hand further down the line as his Uncle Andrew has,” Hodgson said before adding that Prince Harry wouldn’t feel bad at it. In fact, he would likely appreciate it.

“Every future child or descendant of the Duke of Cambridge (William) will push Harry another step down the line of succession,” John Fry, a UK resident, added.

Kate Boulton also believes that it wouldn’t matter to the Duke of Sussex because he doesn’t want to be king. She added that Prince Harry might just love having more nieces and nephews.

Prince Harry is a reluctant royal, according to royal experts. There was a time when he wanted to turn his back from his royal life, but Queen Elizabeth II convinced him to continue his duties and obligations, so he decided to stay.
