The lives of the royal family will change drastically once Queen Elizabeth II dies.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s family would be gravely affected perhaps due to the former’s impending role as the future King. On the online forum site Quora, royal fans are wondering whether or not the Cambridges would be forced to move out of Kensington Palace after the Queen’s passing.

Richard Kahler, an avid reader of history and biography, said that Prince William and Middleton’s move will actually depend on Prince Charles. After the Queen dies, Prince Charles would assume the role of King. He is currently living at Clarence House with Camilla Parker Bowles.

If Prince Charles and Camilla decide to live at the Buckingham Palace while he is the monarch, Clarence House would be open for whoever wants to reside there. Buckingham Palace has also been the home of the reigning monarch and this is where Her Majesty currently lives.

However, it has already been suggested that Prince Charles and Camilla would like to continue living at the Clarence House, and they will simply use the Buckingham Palace for ceremonial purposes. In this case, Buckingham Palace could be open for Prince William and Middleton.

At present, the royal couple is residing at Kensington Palace and they will stay there in the coming years. Prince Harry and Markle used to stay in Kensington Palace as well but they moved out recently and are now staying at their newly renovated Frogmore Cottage.

Meanwhile, the royal fan also noted the fact that Buckingham Palace is up for renovation. In the coming months, the Queen will also move out of the premises of her current home. If the monarch’s death coincides with the refurbishment of the palace then it would be kept empty until after the renovations are completed.

In this case, Prince Charles will continue to stay at Clarence House and Prince William will continue to stay at Kensington Palace.
