Prince William and Kate Middleton's son will likely enjoy the dukedom titles when they grow up.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's children are currently called prince and princesses. Prince George and Prince Loui' titles are just similar to their dad, Prince William, and uncle Prince Harry. However, according to Kara Godfrey, a journalist for Express, the two will likely be dukes when they eventually get married.

Prince William and Prince Harry also received the titles Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex, respectively, after their weddings. So, the same practice may apply to Prince George and Prince Louis.

According to Charles Kidd, editor of Debrett's Peerage & Baronetage, there are still a number of dukedoms that can be bestowed to the younger royals. Thus, Prince George and Prince Louis will likely have one in the future.

"The dukedoms of Cumberland, Albany and Teviotdale are all suspended, meaning there could be claims to those titles," Kidd said when royals fans were still speculating what dukedom would be given to Prince Harry.

In related news, Princess Charlotte is set to be the next Princess Royal. However, the honor will not be immediately given to her when Prince William takes over the throne. She has to wait for some reasons.

"The title of Princess Royal is traditionally bestowed on the eldest daughter of the monarch," Duncan Larcombe told Town and Country, referencing to Princess Anne as the current Princess Royal. "It is a title that remains for life, so Princess Charlotte will have to wait at least until the death of the current Princess Royal."

In addition, it won't be guaranteed that Princess Charlotte will be granted such an honor. The Duke of Cambridge will have to decide if his daughter will get the title immediately after Princess Anne's passing or if she has to wait longer.

The waiting time isn't new at all. In fact, Princess Anne had to wait for over 20 years before the Queen decided to bestow the title to her even if it was long vacated.

"Princess Anne had to wait until 1987 before her mother the Queen bestowed the title of Princess Royal on her, even though the title had been vacant since 1965," the author of "Prince Harry: The Inside Story" added.
