Princess Eugenie is set to tie the knot on Oct. 12 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

The 28-year-old royal will marry her longtime boyfriend Jack Brooksbank. One of the highlights of the big event is Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress. As of late, she has not revealed who will design her gown. It has been a common practice among female royals to show off their bridal dress on the day of their wedding.

But ahead of the nuptials, Isabella Sullivan, a journalist for Express, thinks that it is possible that Princess Eugenie’s gown will be as flashy as Sarah Ferguson’s dress from the 1980s.

“Perhaps the most memorable aspect of the day was Fergie’s decadent, custom-made wedding dress. Oozing 80s flair and style, ivory-silk dress was designed by Linda Cierach and featured some intricate beadwork. Various symbols including hearts representing romance, anchors, and waves representing Prince Andrew’s sailing background and bumblebees and thistles, were all emblazoned on the dress – which also featured a 17-foot train,” she wrote.

The journalist said that Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress may be as unique as her mom’s, but her wedding won’t be as extravagant as the nuptials of her parents. This is because Princess Eugenie is not considered a working royal. As such, she is not expected to invite foreign dignitaries.

However, Princess Eugenie is expected to invite some of her friends from the industry, namely, George and Amal Clooney, Ellie Goulding, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, David and Victoria Beckham, and more, according to People.

In related news, Ferguson made headlines recently after her interview about Prince Andrew from years ago resurfaced online.

“My deal was that I was marrying my man, who happened to be a prince and a naval officer. But what I got was not the man, I got the palace and didn’t get him… and the courtiers told me I had to go to Buckingham Palace and he had to go to sea,” she said about their marriage.
