A woman in Massachusetts was accused of defecating in the parking lot of a local goods store over 9 times since December. She was arrested Wednesday after being caught in the act.

Andrea Grocer, 51, of Ashland, defecated near Natick Outdoor Store at 38 North Avenue several times since early December, triggering a police investigation. The owner of the store, Henry Kanner, first informed police about the discovery in December. He said he installed surveillance cameras to catch shoplifters which helped police catch Grocer.

"And then it happened again. And then it happened again," he told NBC 10 Boston. Kanner said he grew more suspicious after noticing “a little bit of toilet paper” next to the pile of waste.

Police monitored the store’s parking lot and saw Grocer defecating right outside the driver’s seat of her SUV, using its opened door as a barrier. They said she awaited a nearby commuter train and shuttle buses to pass for 10 minutes before the act. The incident was caught on camera and she was arrested.

“At first, they thought it was an animal but then they noticed toilet paper and other wipes – items animals would not have access to,” Lieutenant Cara Rossi, of Natick police, told Metro West Daily News.

The investigating officer was baffled as to why Grocer chose the store whereas there were several public restrooms nearby. Kanner said he neither knew her personally nor how she could be possibly connected with his store. Though the store owner claimed that Grocer had done it nine times, she was arrested on eight charges of defacing property.

Grocer was said to have apologized, vowing not to relieve herself in the goods store’s parking lot ever again. She said she had irritable bowel syndrome and was going to a home where she works as a nanny.

She was released without bail after being arraigned in court Wednesday and was scheduled to reappear on March 2. It was not known if she was assigned an attorney.
