A woman died after her boyfriend drove off during an argument while she was still on the hood of his car. The incident took place at Staten Island, a New York City borough, on Sunday.

The 29-year-old woman, identified as Tierra Eddy, had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend on Sunday around midnight, during which, she had jumped onto the hood of his car. The man then reportedly speeded off in a drunken state.

The accused, identified as 25-year-old Jahfare Ford, lost control of the car and crashed into a porch near Dubois and Egbert avenues at Westerleigh.

A 48-year-old neighbor, identified as Steven Sellers, told New York Post that he ran outside after hearing a loud noise when the car crash into the house and found Ford seemingly disoriented next to the crashed car.

“My neighbor and I sat him down on my stoop, just get him to mellow out, calm down,” said sellers, while adding that Ford had mumbled that he lost control while driving.

When asked if anyone else was inside the car, Ford incoherently mentioned his “baby’s mama”, and told them that the woman was not in the car, but on top of the hood while he was driving.

Eddy was then spotted on the side of a neighbor’s house.

According to authorities, emergency services and police arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to Richmond University Medical Center for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Ford also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He was later arrested by the police and was charged with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, and driving while intoxicated. No other injuries were reported.
