A newborn baby miraculously survived being thrown out of a car in a horrific vehicular accident in Turlock Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the family of 6-week-old Ezra Benitez was driving on Highway 99 when it crashed near the Main Street Exit, according to FOX 40.

The SUV flipped several times before coming to a stop, while Ezra was later found upside down in his car seat in the shoulder of the vehicle, it added.

The baby only had minor injuries despite the accident.

Investigators pointed that the car seat wasn't properly installed. As a result, it flung Ezra out of a broken window.

“I've been on for 17 years. I've never seen anything like this before,” said CHP Officer Thomas Olsen.

Meanwhile, Ezra's father, Ulizes Benitez, said that he crawled out of the wreckage and immediately searched for his son.

“...And there he was on top of a bush the car seat not one bit of dirt on it like he landed perfectly and clean no scratches,” wrote Ulizes.

Firefighters who responded to the scene found Ezra unscathed, said Fox News.

Ulizes and Ezra's toddler father were unharmed, while their mother sustained fractures to the rib, tailbone and pelvis, the network added.

The accident also prompted Olsen to remind families about the importance of car seats.

“This is a good learning moment for all of us who have children that the proper installation of a car seat is so important,” he said.

For his part, Ulizes thanked all those who had helped him and his family.

“I'm so thankful to God and all the first responders that got there to help me and my family. And the team at UC Davis that help treat my baby boys I'm thankful for everyone that God put in our path to help us.

“If there is something I have to say about this year is that I am beyond blessed and thankful,” expressed Ulizes.
