A 34-year-old English mother currently fighting sepsis said one of her hands now looks like a "shark's head" following surgery.

Sadie Kemp, of Sawtry, Huntingdon, was admitted to the hospital on the evening of Christmas Day last year after she experienced a sharp pain in her kidney, the New York Post reported.

Doctors diagnosed Kemp with a kidney stone and transferred her to an emergency ward to remove it. However, during the operation, the former health care worker's limbs became afflicted with sepsis, a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body attempts to fight off infection and ends up attacking as well as damaging its own tissues, according to the outlet.

The mother of two was put into an induced coma for 11 days before she was placed on intensive care life support, a report by the Peterborough Telegraph said.

Doctors had to amputate all the fingers on Kemp's left hand to save her life, and they later sewed the hand inside a pouch in her abdomen to maintain blood circulation, according to the newspaper.

Her hand now resembled the head of a shark, said Kemp, who is now staying at Peterborough City Hospital.

"I wasn’t aware my hand was going to look like a shark's head till it had actually been released from my abdomen," the mother was quoted as saying by Mirror.

She has since started posting videos of her hand on TikTok.

One video, which currently has nearly 83 million views, featured Kemp humming the theme of the 1975 Hollywood blockbuster film "Jaws" while she seemingly imitated the movement of a shark's mouth.

"I looked at it for the first time, and I moved what was left of my thumb. And I was just like, 'Wow it looks like a shark,' and started to do shark videos as I thought it was pretty funny. I did not expect the video to go viral," she said.

Doctors have reportedly told Kemp that they will need to amputate her other hand and both her legs below the knees.

A GoFundMe campaign launched to support Kemp has raised £35,432 ($47,050) as of writing.

Almost 11 million people die from sepsis-related complications every year, according to a 2017 report by the World Health Organization.
