A 49-year-old woman in San Luis Obispo County, California, has been arrested after allegedly ramming her car into another vehicle with a child inside.

At around 3:45 p.m. Friday, deputies with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office (SLOCSO) responded to reports of a woman trying to run over a child with her car in the 6000 Block of Highway 1 in Cayucos, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

Deputies determined that the woman, identified as 49-year-old Willow Osah Waddell of Pismo Beach, California, had actually rammed a vehicle occupied by an adult male and a juvenile, whose names were not disclosed.

When police arrived, Waddell and the two victims were no longer at the scene, according to the press release. Deputies began an immediate investigation and search for Waddell.

"The Sheriff's Office received reports that Waddell may be in possession of a firearm, and may be having a mental health crisis," the sheriff's office said in the press release.

Multiple agencies joined the search for Waddell, including the Pismo Beach Police Department, State Parks and California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said Waddell drove back to her home in Pismo Beach around 7:05 p.m. that day.

After she entered through the garage, deputies formed a perimeter and asked Waddell to exit her residence.

Aside from this, the sheriff's office's crisis negotiation team also attempted to contact Waddell by phone and through the PA system.

The standoff lasted until the early morning of Saturday when SLOCSO's special enforcement team went inside the home.

This came after detectives secured a Ramey Warrant for Waddell alleging child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon.

Waddell was taken into custody without incident at around 2:11 a.m. Saturday.

She was booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail. Her bail was set at $250,000.

No other detail about the case has been released as of this writing.
