WrestleMania 33 will feature some of the biggest stars in WWE history with the likes of The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and John Cena competing in the event’s biggest matches. While some former WWE superstars are not on the card, it would be surprising if they didn’t make an appearance at the biggest wrestling pay-per-view of 2017.

The Rock hasn’t been on WWE TV since WrestleMania 32, but he’ll likely be a part of the show in some capacity. Kurt Angle will undoubtedly grace the stage at WrestleMania 33, having not appeared at the event since 2006.

Even while becoming the biggest movie star in Hollywood, The Rock has been a fixture on the Grandest Stage of Them All. He returned to WWE in 2011 to become the host of WrestleMania 27, and he’s been at the event in each year since.

The Rock had his last advertised WWE match in 2013, dropping the WWE Championship to Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29. He was part of the opening segment with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 30, and he teamed up with Ronda Rousey for a segment with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 31.

The Rock might be done wrestling for good, but it isn’t out of the question that he could have another WWE match. He technically had a match against Erick Rowan last year, though it lasted just six seconds.

WWE hasn’t said anything regarding a potential appearance by The Rock, but Angle’s WrestleMania 33 appearance won’t exactly be a surprise. He’s headlining the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class, and the ceremony will take place two nights before WrestleMania 33. Every year, WWE introduces the inductees at the Sunday night PPV, and Angle should get his moment in front of the crowd in Orlando.

Angle’s return to WWE likely won’t be limited to the Hall of Fame induction. He’s expected to return to WWE TV at some point, possibly on the night following WrestleMania 33. There have been rumors that he will take over as the general manager of “Monday Night Raw,” a position that Mick Foley just relinquished.

It’s unknown if Angle will have a physical confrontation at WrestleMania 33 or the following night, but it’s certainly not out of the question. Considering he’s still capable of having good matches, it’s hard to believe that Angle won’t have at least one more WWE match at some point, possibly at SummerSlam or WrestleMania 34.

The list of returning WWE legends at WrestleMania 33 probably won’t be limited to just The Rock and Angle. Stone Cold has appeared at the event in each of the last two years, and there’s been speculation that Hogan could come back for the first time since he was fired in 2015.
