Director Bryan Singer recently posted a selfie with Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult from the set of “X-Men: Apocalypse” on his Instagram page. In the image, the trio can be seen smiling for the camera, as they appear to be standing in the futuristic basement of Professor Xavier’s mansion.

Lawrence and Hoult, who will reprise their roles as Mystique and Beast, respectively, are shown casually dressed. The image was captioned as, “Back with the #thekidsinthehall #jenniferlawrence #mystique #nicholashoult #beast #Xmen #XMenApocalypse.”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” is being shot in Montreal. Hoult and Lawrence are a part of ensemble cast that also includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, Lucas Till, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn and Lana Condor.

Lawrence‘s character, Mystique, is a superhuman who has the ability to turn into any person. She can mimic the voice and physical attributes of anyone with great precision. In the comics, she has blue skin and yellow eyes and works with Professor Xavier (McAvoy). Meanwhile, Beast has apelike superhuman strength and a genius-level intellect. His physical appearance consists of blue hair, apelike features, and sharp teeth and claws.

In “X-Men: First Class” Mystique and Beast bonded due to their peculiar appearances and got romantically involved but their relationship was not explored further in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” It is expected that their romance could be a part of focus in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” "I think they’ll try and figure out a way to develop it more in the next one,” Hoult told MTV.

Another report suggested that a romance between Mystique and Magneto (Fassbender) will be highlight of the film. “Fox will take full advantage of Lawrence and Fassbender's star power, placing Mystique and Magneto's romance front and center," Hollywood Reporter quoted a source as saying.

Singer is directing the film from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg. The film is set to open May 19, 2016.
