Cane and Lily on "The Young and the Restless"
Cane (Daniel Goddard) comes clean to Lily (Christel Khalil) on the June 29, 2017 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

He has sworn he never had sex with Juliet so he could preserve both his job and his marriage, but following the latest developments in the case, Cane will have no choice but to come clean with the truth on the Thursday, June 29 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Cane (Daniel Goddard) swore from the beginning that Juliet’s (Laur Allen) claim that he coerced her into having sex for the sake of her getting a job at Brash and Sassy was false. Even after video footage surfaced of the two clearly going into his hotel room in Tokyo together, he maintained his innocence on the CBS soap, swearing to Victoria (Amelia Heinle) that he didn’t jeopardize Brash and Sassy’s rep, and especially swearing to Lily that nothing happened between him and another woman. All along however, he has known that he had sex with Juliet in Tokyo, and while they were both drunk when they did it, it was consensual.

However, the question of whether or not he harassed Juliet will now be the one that matters least, because Juliet has confirmed she is pregnant, and the timing for conception lines up with when she and Cane were in Tokyo together. Now, a stunned Lily will demand that he finally tell her the truth, once and for all, and a defeated Cane will finally confess to the fact that he did in fact cheat on his wife.

“Just don’t lie to me,” Lily cries in a preview clip. “Just tell me the truth.”

“We had sex,” Cane admits.

A devastated and heartbroken Lily will run off in tears, because she now knows the truth about her husband’s infidelity, and can’t believe that after everything they went through when she had an affair, which she had been honest about, he would lie to her to the extent he has this time.

Now, Cane will also have to tell Victoria the truth as well, meaning his boss will be livid when she learns the truth too—especially because it will mean she has to settle the case and not take it to court, and Juliet will in fact receive a settlement for a false claim.

Meanwhile, Juliet will be expressing some reservations about the fact that she is pregnant with Cane’s child, because she didn’t want to actually hurt Lily this way. She will then go to seek out Hilary (Mishael Morgan), who had convinced her to actually file the suit when she was fired, to tell her the news, and may be stunned when Hilary seems to nonchalantly feel that the right thing happened, because now Lily knows the truth about Cane’s infidelity.

“Well, at least Lily knows the truth now,” she says in the clip. “Cane cheated on her.”

Juliet will be surprised that it seems Hilary only cares about Lily knowing the truth, because she’s also worried about how the latest development affects her case against Cane. After reassurance from Hilary that being pregnant will help her in the end, Juliet may relax about her condition, though no matter what the outcome of the case is now, the damage to Cane and Lily has officially been done.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
