They’ve officially said their goodbyes, but now is the time for them to start looking towards what a future without Neil holds. Before starting to do that, however, Neil’s loved ones will celebrate his life and the memories they shared with him one last time on the Friday, April 26 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Everyone was devastated and in tears as they gathered at the church for Neil’s (Kristoff St John) memorial service on the CBS soap, and it was clear that many of those he left behind are going to struggle without him for a long time. However, as the service heads back to Devon’s (Bryton James) penthouse, the time will quickly come to make sure that no more tears are shed, as it quickly becomes an order that everyone now stops mourning and instead begins to celebrate the man Neil was and the impact he had on their lives.

“The life of Neil Winters is celebrated,” spoilers reveal.

However, even as they all flashback to the good time with Neil and remember those warm and tender moments they shared over the years, the fact will also be there that they have to figure out what their futures will hold for them now that he is gone. Most specifically, Devon and Lily (Christel Khalil) will be the ones who need to figure out what the best moves are for them to make following their immense grief over their father’s death.

For Devon, the future is something that could seem bleaker than ever before, since this is not the first major death he’s dealt with in less than a year. Everyone is concerned about him since he’s not even at a year since Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) death, and there are genuine concerns that this could cause him to spiral. However, he also has the support of Elena (Brytni Sarpy), who he has been growing closer to—and she may be the key to him moving on.

As for Lily, she will need to decide if she is still committed to her plans to divorce Cane (Daniel Goddard) and start her life over elsewhere—even though he has been supportive and by her side during this difficult time. Of course, while he may think that means she has forgiven him, she likely won’t, and she will need to look towards a life where she is truly on her own.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
