Season 5 of The CW’s “The 100” is coming to an end, with only its season finale still left to air. Luckily, it’s been split into two parts, with one episode airing tomorrow night (July 31) and the final part airing next Tuesday (Aug. 7).

Episode 12, which is the first half of the season finale, is titled “Damocles - Part One.” In it, “Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) leads her people into war,” the episode synopsis shares. “While behind enemy lines, our heroes must overcome their differences to save Wonkru from extinction.”

All of Season 5 has been building to this moment and this fight for the valley. Many of the characters are at odds and not on the same page, especially Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Bellamy (Bob Morley), as well as Bellamy and Octavia. They all had different reasons for why they’ve done the things they’ve done throughout the season, but it’s all boiled down to them trying to protect the ones they love at all costs.

Fans saw just how much some of the characters had to go through to do just that in episode 11 of the season, which revealed the bunker’s cannibalistic “Dark Year.” Viewers have also seen what Clarke’s willing to do for the people she cares about.

“Clarke is a bit all over the place, following her heart and doing things impulsively, as we often do when our children’s safety is involved,” showrunner Jason Rothenberg told TV Insider. “Losing Madi [Lola Flanery] to the Flame is her worst nightmare. And Bellamy is the person she blames.”

Now, everyone’s lives will be in even greater danger as the fight begins. “I will not let you die in this war,” Clarke tells someone, presumably Madi, in the trailer. Clarke wasn’t the only one in the promo talking about staying alive, however.

“First we survive, then we get our humanity back,” Abigail (Paige Turco) tells Marcus (Henry Ian Cusick).

“I wish I still believed that,” he says back to her.

This new “The 100” episode, which was directed by Dean White and written by Justine Juel Gillmer, is going to be “heartbreaking” and “epic,” according to Morley and Taylor’s interview with Extra.

See it all go down when part one of “The 100” Season 5 finale airs on Tuesday on The CW at 8 p.m. EDT.
