“Fortnite” (Free)

“Fortnite” is already a global phenomenon and it’s definitely one of the most fun takes on the battle royale genre. The game was first available on PC and consoles, but it finally made its way to iPhones earlier this year.

“Fortnite” battle royale drops 100 players on a massive map, where everyone will have to fight it out to be the last player alive. Unlike other games in the genre, “Fortnite” also has a building mechanic that lets players build structures to protect themselves from incoming fire.

The iPhone version of the game comes with all of the same features available on PC and consoles, including Duo and Squad modes, as well as the limited time modes.

“PUBG Mobile” (Free)

This is the mobile version of “PlayerUnknown’s Battleground.” Like “Fortnite,” “PUBG Mobile” is another battle royale game. However, this game is more grounded and features more realistic gameplay mechanics. This should be more suitable for players who prefer a more serious game than “Fortnite.”

“Donut County” ($4.99)

This is an indie title developed by Annapurna Interactive and was name the 2018 iPhone Game of the year by Apple’s App Store team. “Donut County” is a physics puzzle game that also features its own little weird storyline. The player’s job is to take control of the holes in order to solve puzzles and progress the story.

Although the game is quite short, it will leave players with quite a memorable story about relationships. The game itself doesn’t feature typical gameplay mechanics and relies heavily on animation and music. For example, one part of the game will have players put together wordless speech bubbles that are broken up into puzzle pieces.

“Pokémon Quest” is probably the easiest and simplest ways to play with Pokémon characters on an iPhone. The game features blocky graphics and users are able to collect and battle Pokémon on Tumblecube Island. The game relies on simple tap controls, and it features characters from “Pokémon Blue” and “Pokémon Red,” according to Digital Trends.

“Alto’s Odyssey” ($4.99)

This is a sequel to “Alto’s Adventure.” Like the previous game, “Alto’s Odyssey” still features the same side-scrolling runner mechanic. However, this time around, players will have to go through desert environments instead of the snowy mountains. The game features beautiful graphics and animation, which is also why the game is an Apple Design Award Winner for 2018.

“Old School Runescape” (Free)

This is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game that was first released for the PC in 2013. It finally arrived on iPhones this past October and delivers the same point-and-click gameplay and everything fans expect from a “Runescape” game.
