Two 14-year-old girls suffered injuries after getting shot in a crossfire during a drive-by shooting in Ohio.

The Shaker Heights Police Department responded to the scene at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday after a 911 call came in about shots being fired at Colwyn Road, Cuyahoga County, 3News reported. Upon arriving at the scene, cops found the two girls with gunshot wounds.

Both girls, who were cousins, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and were expected to survive.

"Responding officers learned that two (2) 14-year-old Shaker Heights girls, who were in a parked vehicle, had sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds and were transported to a local hospital," the Shaker Heights Police Department said in a statement.

The 911 caller, believed to be one of the girl's grandmother, said the suspect shot "like five times."

"Please, I need the police. I think my granddaughter just got shot. She's 14 years old. She's in my niece's car. Somebody went past and shot like five times," a 911 caller was heard telling the dispatcher, according to the outlet.

One of the teenagers sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh while the other was shot in her arm, officials noted. The victims were students in the eighth and ninth grades at Shaker Heights schools.

The shots were "fired from a gray-colored Ford truck with tinted windows," police added in the statement.

The police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting. Furthermore, no details related to the suspect were released by the authorities, News 5 Cleveland reported.

Officials learned the two cousins were sitting outside in a parked car for some peace and quiet when they got caught in the gunfire.

The two girls were "never trouble," a neighbor told 3News. He expressed shock upon hearing what happened to the teenagers.

A similar incident was reported earlier this week after a 13-year-old girl was shot in the head in Baltimore, Maryland. Officials said the shooter was aiming at a car when he fired multiple shots at a large crowd. At that time, one of the bullets struck the teenager, "who was standing outside minding her own business," Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said. The teenager was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
