Luckily, those who want to enjoy a great drink before the summer is out can do so in honor of a special holiday that celebrates the spirit of the island—National Rum Day. No matter what variety you may enjoy, here are eight excellent cocktails to party with.

Bubbly Rum Lemonade

What You Need:

  • 2 oz. Zaya Rum
  • 1 oz. Lemon
  • 1 oz. Strawberry Simple Syrup

To make, add all ingredients into a shaker, then shake and strain over fresh ice. Top with lemon soda, garnish and enjoy.

Captain Morgan Mango Daiquiri

What You Need:

  • 1 ½ oz. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
  • 1 oz. Mango Nectar
  • ½ oz. Simple Syrup

To Make, combine all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake and strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a lime wheel.

What You Need:

  • 4 oz. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
  • 16 oz. Cola
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice, plus 2 lime wheels for garnish
  • 1 cup Ice

To make, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the cocktail into glasses and garnish with lime wheels.

To make, combine all ingredients and garnish with blackberry and mint sprigs.

  • 2 oz. Don Papa Rum
  • 2 oz. Pineapple
  • 1 oz. Orange Juice
  • 0.75 oz. Lemon Juice

To make, shake all ingredients together and pour over crushed ice in a tall glass. Garnish with several dashes of Angostura Bitters and a mint bouquet.

Rum Punch

  • 1 Part Grenadine

To make, combine all ingredients in a 32-oz. Punch bowl. Garnish with pineapple leaf, lime zest and an orange slice.

  • 3 oz. Pineapple Juice
  • ½ Orange
  • 2 oz. Light Rum

To make, squeeze ¼ of an orange over ice, then add pineapple juice and rum. Stir then top with Orange Mango. Garnish with your favorite fruit topper and enjoy.

Vanilla Blackberry Bliss

  • Blackberry Spindrift
  • ½ tsp. Vanilla Sugar
  • 1 ½ oz. Rum
  • Ice

To make, start making your own vanilla sugar by thoroughly mixing together 2 cups sugar and either 1 tsp. Vanilla extract or 1 scraped vanilla bean, then storing in an airtight container. Then add sugar, rum and ice to a shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a coupe glass. Top with Blackberry Spindrift and garnish with a sugared blackberry.
