An adorable video of two elephants stealing sugarcane at a traffic signal -- seemingly located in India -- went viral on social media.

The video was originally shared on Twitter in February 2020, where two trucks with elephants on each of them were stopped close to another truck filled with sugarcane.

While the traffic signal was red, both the elephants reached out to the sugarcane-filled truck and took the sugarcane stems one by one.

"Delicious lunch break," the user who shared the video said in a caption. "Sugarcane is one of favourite food of elephants. In captivity sugarcane is an integral part of the diet plan. To provide energy."

Many users took to the comments section to share their mixed reactions.

While many users found this act was absolutely cute, others noted how dangerous it is to transport animals like that on a vehicle.

The video was recently shared on Instagram, where people commented that it’s not the elephants who are stealing the sugarcane but it is humans who stole their life.

"‘Stealing’ is inappropriate to use here. Humans ‘stole’ from animals in the first place. Animals have simply tried to coexist," one user wrote. Another user noted: "Except, ownership and stealing are human beings’ made up terms. Lol."
