AirPods 2 Delayed? Apple Not Launching Wireless Earphones Next Month

Apple has announced an upcoming major company event this coming March 25. However, the event will not focus on the announcement of new devices for 2019. So what happens to the AirPods 2 now?

According to Buzzfeed News, several sources said that Apple is planning on holding a major event of their own at the Steve Jobs theatre in Cupertino, California on March 25. However, the event seems to be focused more on announcements about Apple’s upcoming service offers. This event seems to be in line with their announcement in CES 2019 where Apple confirmed that they’ll mostly focus on providing services rather releasing new devices this year.

As of now, Apple has yet to talk about their new devices for 2019. However, many speculations have been circulating about their device release schedule for this year. So far, speculations claimed that the Apple AirPods 2 may be released in the first quarter of 2019.

And if Apple doesn’t announce any details about the AirPods 2 by this event, we may have to wait until April to find out if this device will be released. After that, we can only wait for Apple’s official announcement for its plans for the next generation AirPods.

As for AirPods 2’s features, the device is said to have an electrocardiogram (ECG) feature. Usually only related to medical devices, the ECG feature allows the AirPods 2 to read the user’s heartbeat especially those who use it during exercise such as jogging and working out in the gym. Moreover, the AirPods 2 will also be waterproof which can be useful when needed to use it underwater. All-in-all, the AirPods 2 seems to be a great update to the current AirPods wireless headphones.

Aside from this event, Apple has yet to stance the company on officially announcing or releasing a new device in public. Most of their 2019 moves are mostly about improvements on their current services throughout all smart device platforms and selling their older devices again of some specific smartphone series such as the iPhone SE clearance sale. We can only wait for the next official Apple announcement for the next AirPods 2 information.
