AirPods Pro Too Expensive? Noise-Canceling Alternative Available For Less Than $70

Apple’s AirPods Pro is currently the best pair of wireless earbuds with noise cancellation for those who use iPhones, iPads and Macs. It offers a ton of features that iOS users will love, particularly its easy integration into Apple’s ecosystem, digital assistant Siri, and of course, sound quality and ANC features.

That said, not everyone can afford to splurge on such an expensive audio accessory. While the AirPods Pro can be purchased for less than its regular price on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s a fact that it’s still more expensive than most devices, making it unattainable for those who are cash-strapped amid the pandemic.

Those who are looking for a good pair of wireless, noise-canceling in-ear headphones but can’t afford Apple’s offering can check out the Mpow X3, a pair of noise-canceling wireless earbuds that look like the AirPods Pro but can be purchased for a fraction of the price.

The Mpow X3 sounds “shockingly good for the price,” per CNet. It offers “good clarity and powerful bass” and can get loud when the user needs it to.

Mpow X3 also boasts “fairly effective” noise cancellation, according to the outlet. While its performance might not be as great as the AirPods Pro’s, it is still good considering its price tag.

The Mpow X3 is IPX8 rated, which means it is fully waterproof and can be taken on runs during rainy days or when partying near a pool. It can last for up to 10 hours with ANC turned off and up to eight hours with ANC turned on.

Noise reduction during calls could be better, CNet noted, but generally, call quality is good. Slight lags in audio output might be heard when watching videos via YouTube, but there’s no lag when streaming video via iTunes, the outlet noted.

Consumers can get the Mpow X3 from Mpow's website for $69.99 or from Amazon for about $66 per unit. Prime members can get it for a lower price. The latest version comes in white, but those who prefer to use another color can get the older version that comes in black.
