As Apple is slowly making the Apple Watch an independent device, it has now given it some pairing features with other gadgets. Pairing the smartwatch with the AirPods or other wireless earbuds is now possible. Check out all of or pairing tips below.

To pair your AirPods with your Apple Watch directly, proceed to the smartwatch’s Control Center by swiping up the smartwatch’s screen. Go to the AirPlay icon which is the one with a small triangle and some circles. The options in this menu would allow you to find your AirPods or wireless earbuds and pair them up with your device.

Alternatively, the AirPlay icon can also be found in other media player apps that would allow you to pair your wireless earbuds without always going to the settings.

If your Apple Watch can’t detect the AirPods, updating its firmware may actually help. For the first-generation Apple Watch, update its firmware to at least watchOS 3 to detect the AirPods or any other wireless earbuds. Meanwhile, the second-generation Apple Watch will need at least watchOS 5.2

Even though the Apple Watch is slowly moving away from iPhone dependency, users can still connect their Apple Watch and earbuds together through their iPhones. To do this, connect the AirPods to your iPhone and this would allow wireless earbuds to connect to the owner’s iCloud. If your Apple Watch is also paired to the iPhone, the iCloud menus can handle the watch-earbuds pairing through a single tap.

Lastly, disconnecting the paired AirPods is quite easy since you can just put both wireless earbuds back in the case and press the reset button on the case to be sure.

A new AirPods iteration was released earlier this year. However, the company has yet to launch a follow-up to the Apple Watch series. Many fans are currently waiting for the company to start fully announcing new devices that will likely make their official debut in September.
