Alex Rodriguez gave an update about his upcoming wedding to Jennifer Lopez.

Rodriguez and Lopez announced their engagement in March last year. Many are looking forward to their upcoming big day, but the COVID-19 pandemic put a wrench in their wedding plans.

On Thursday, Rodriguez had an interview with Jimmy Fallon via Zoom for “The Tonight Show.” During their chat, Rodriguez said that their wedding is on hold due to the coronavirus lockdown.

“We have to go with the flow now. Everything is fluid,” the former baseball superstar said.

According to Rodriguez, “everything” is on pause and they are just waiting “where the world takes us.”

Social gathering is discouraged due to the pandemic. According to Rodriguez, they want to make sure of everyone’s safety especially their kids. Rodriguez was also asked if he helped with Lopez’s impressive “One World” backyard performance where she performed a lovely rendition of Barbra Streisand’s 1964 ballad “People.”

“It was a family effort,” he answered.

He added that their children were much better than them at the arts and camera angles. In fact, he never thought that their backyard would convert into a concert hall.

Lopez received a personal note from Babs which turned the “Hustlers” star into a blushing fangirl.

“I felt like Jennifer turned into her daughter Emmy as a 12-year-old. She was so excited. She got red in the cheeks,” Rodriguez said.

Lopez also gave an update about her special day in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. According to the “On The Floor” singer, their plans were affected by the pandemic and they haven’t set a date yet as they are also waiting for what will happen next.

“Honestly, I really don't know what's going to happen now, as far as dates or anything like that. We're just kind of in a holding pattern like the rest of the world. Again, it's something that we're gonna have to wait and see in a few months, how this all pans out,” Lopez said.

Lopez has remained positive despite the lockdown. She said that she’s happy because she’s with her kids.

“We’re all home together, which I'm really happy about,” she said. “To me, there's no greater luxury than getting to spend real time with my kids.”
