Amar'e Stoudemire, the 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year, has reportedly been arrested for allegedly punching one of his teenage daughters in the jaw on Saturday, December 17.

According to a police report via The Miami Herald, the issue stemmed from a dispute involving one of Stoudemire's daughters and their grandmother.

The former NBA player did not like the way the daughter spoke to her grandmother and started an argument between the 40-year-old and one of his children.

It led to the retired cager punching his daughter on the right side of her face.

Furthermore, it was Stoudemire's ex-wife who told reporters about the incident after one of her daughters contacted her.

She showed photos of her daughter crying with blood running down her face.

In response, Stoudemire informed cops that her daughter got upset because "she received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and liar."

Stoudemire reportedly had two daughters aged 17 and 14 years old.

As of this writing, it remained unclear who between the two the Phoenix Suns legend struck.

In addition, there was no attorney listed for Stoudemire per court records.

He was arrested on early Sunday, December 18, but he was later released on a $1,500 bond with a no-contact order issued per Miami-Dade County court records showed via the Associated Press.

Stoudemire played in the NBA from 2002 to 2020.

He started his NBA career with the Suns before moving to the New York Knicks in 2010.

After that, he also had stints with the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat.

In 2016, he signed a contract with the Knicks so he could retire as a member of the franchise.

However, he would continue to play basketball overseas with stints in the Israeli Basketball League with the Hapoel Jerusalem (2016 to 2019) and Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2020.

In between those Israeli Basketball League stints, Stoudemire also suited up for the Fujian Sturgeons in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he played in only 11 games averaging 19.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per outing.
