iOS 15 will add the new food tracking feature on the Health app and will come with enhanced notifications, dark mode UI and messaging app tweaks according to a recent leak.

The leak suggests that Apple is working on a new food tracking feature for its Health application. The tech giant reportedly plans to improve its notification update, dark mode user interface and messaging app on the iOS 15 update, 9to5 Mac reported.

On May 25, writer Connor Jewiss revealed some of the iOS 15 features that unknown sources revealed to him. Although Jewiss has no track record of Apple rumors yet, his leak added substance to previous reports on Apple’s upcoming operating system update.

In his Twitter post, Jewiss mentioned a list of the iOS 15 features such as dark mode UI, messages app tweaks, food tracking in the health app, and the notification setting on the lock screen.

The food tracking feature coming to the Health app could allow the users to log onto a list of their food intake and monitor their caloric intake. It could also track the nutritional values of the food that the users eat, MacRumors reported.

It is still unknown how the feature will actually work or if the users will have to manually enter the data. Reports added that it could also work through a food database that they could access.

Sources claimed that in its aim to strengthen its Health App, Apple recently conducted a survey on its Apple Watch users providing them a third party option to track how their health data, including their eating habits.

The leak also mentioned the new notification update coming on iOS 15. In April, Bloomberg reported that Apple plans to update the iPhone allowing the users to update the notifications based on their preferences.

The notifications will vary based on their status, such as driving, working, sleeping, and more. The menu will be seen in the updated lock screen for easier access.

iOS 15 dark mode user interface tweaks as mentioned in the leak may come through minor changes in the color variation options. The messaging app will have the option to automatically reply to messages depending on the user’s current status.

The iOS 15 update will launch in WWDC along with the next major versions of watchOS, tvOS, and macOS.
