Apple may have a new app for Windows 10 soon, a new report said.

According to a tweet from Italian-speaking blog Aggiornamenti Lumia (spotted by iPhoneHacks), Apple will have a new app for Windows 10. The tweet claims that the new unnamed app will be “coming soon to the Microsoft Store.”

It's worth noting that the blog didn't provide any detail regarding the rumored app. The tweet does not mention anything about the app's name, function or features. It doesn't even mention a tentative release date, if it is indeed coming. The tweet is speculative at best, but that doesn't mean Apple won't release an app or more for Microsoft's operating system.

Fans will remember that Apple split iTunes up into several apps for its operating system versions last year. The long-running app was replaced by the Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Podcast apps in iOS 13, macOS Catalina and iPadOS 13.

The Cupertino tech giant, however, retained iTunes for Windows computers. The company said at the time that it won't kill off iTunes for the same reason that it killed the app for its operating systems. iTunes for Windows will continue to work the same way that it did before, allowing Windows users to manage the music and other content they have on their Apple devices.

Another earlier report, however, indicated that Apple is working behind the scenes to create more apps for Windows. The report revealed that according to a job listing over on LinkedIn, the Cupertino tech giant was looking for a senior software engineer who will be working on “the next generation of media apps for Windows.”

The listing has since expired.

The listing didn't specify what kind of next-gen media apps these would be, but it included a clue.

“If you love music and you are passionate about writing code, and want to work with world-class engineering teams that ship to millions of users, the Media Apps team is the place for you,” the job listing said at the time.

Based on these earlier details, it's safe to assume that Apple could do away with iTunes for Windows and replace it with a Music app in the near future. Windows users who own an iPhone or other iDevices might even see other Apple apps come to their computers real soon.
