Ariana Grande Jokes About Instagram Hack, Arianators Relieved Following Offensive Posts

Following several obscene posts shared on Ariana Grande’s Instagram on Friday, the “Dangerous Woman” singer revealed that she was not behind the negative messages and was actually hacked.

After regaining control of her social media account, Grande made light of the hacking by sharing a video of Diane Keaton screaming and waving her arms looking as if she was in a major panic. “Ya’ll when i got hacked this am,” she captioned the video referring to her fans’ reaction to her unusual social media behavior.

Grande’s fanbase, known as Arianators, seemed relieved when they learned it wasn’t her sharing the vulgar messages online. In one of the post, the hacker boasted about being in a gang. When Grande’s pal Nicki Minaj chimed in with a thinking face emoji, the hacker threatened the rapper.

Although Minaj didn’t respond, it is likely that she did not take offense to the hacker’s response seeing as the two artists have been friends for a few years.

The rapper and Grande’s relationship dates back to 2014 when the singer was featured on the single “Get On Your Knees” off of Minaj’s “The Pinkprint” album. That same year, the two collaborated on the song “Bang Bang” with Jessie J. By 2016, Minaj was featured on Grande’s hit single “Side to Side” and the two even sat next to each other at MTV’s Music Video Awards.

The following year, Minaj sent her love to Grande on May 22, the day of the Manchester Arena attack in which 23 people were killed and 250 were injured by an explosion while attending the singer’s concert. “My heart hurts for my sister, Ariana & every family affected by this tragic event in the U.K. Innocent lives lost. I’m so sorry to hear this,” she tweeted at the time.

Fans were shocked during the hacker’s activity on the singer’s social media, thinking Grande was boasting about gangs and using offensive language after having such an emotional reaction following the Manchester tragedy.

Not long after the May attack, Grande tweeted she was “broken” over the loss of life. “From the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words,” she wrote.

On May 26, she shared a letter sending out her condolences to the family affected by the attack. “My heart, prayers and deepest condolences are with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones. There is nothing I or anyone can to do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better,” the singer wrote.

Fans were relieved to learn that Grande was not behind the rude messages on social. Since gaining access back to her account, the singer has deleted all traces of the hacker and over on her Twitter account, Grande liked several tweets from fans telling her they still love her following her social media hacking.

Next up for Grande, she may take home an award at the end of the month. The songstress has been nominated for artist of the year at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards.
