Ark: Survival Evolved is getting a huge update Wednesday across PS4 and Xbox One, and we finally know when the patch will go live on both platforms. Xbox One owners will get the content first at 4 p.m. EDT, while PS4 will follow slightly later at 4:30 p.m. We’ve listed what we assume to be the final patch notes below.

Upcoming Version Will Be 1.20 On PS4, v754 on Xbox One

  • TEK Cave & Volcano
  • New Dino: Giant Bee: Can be tamed to construct a nest that can be harvested for honey. The honey can then be used as mammal bait.
  • New Dino: Daeodon: A dog-like creature that travels in packs and can heal itself and nearby allies very quickly. It requires lots of food.
  • New Dino: Liopleurodon: An average marine tame that can stay underwater for a long time.
  • New Dino: Kentrosaurus: Survivors can’t ride it, but it’s a solid base defense.
  • New Structure: Tek Cloning Chamber
  • New Structure: Tek Megalodon Saddle
  • New Structure: Tek Turret
  • New Weapon: Tek Grenade
  • "Ascension" Game Progression
  • More UI overhauls
  • New Hairstyle and Facial Hair
  • Approximately 20+ New Explorer Notes
  • 15 new music tracks, per-biome and situational
  • Fixed issue with Cave spawns not functioning properly in singleplayer
  • The Center mega-update
  • Engram Tree REVAMP. -- With the forced level reset and cap at 100, Unofficials which have custom Levels/EXP will need to add an additional 15 levels to make up for Ascension.
  • New Emote
  • Anglers can now gather pearls.

In few words, the console update coming to Ark Wednesday brings the PS4 and Xbox One versions in line with what’s currently happening on PC. This includes the Tek Cave with its controversial “Ascension” ending for the game. It’s been said that, while it gets the job done, the current conclusion is just a placeholder for what will be available in the final game.

As those who follow Ark closely will know, this PS4 and Xbox One update was supposed to go live Tuesday. However, mere hours before release, Microsoft contacted the game’s developers at Studio Wildcard to inform them of “critical issues” that needed to be fixed first. The PS4 version, on the other hand, simply needed more time for polish until it was ready for publishing.

While Ark: Survival Evolved is nearing requirements for its retail release, this won’t be its final major early access update on all platforms. Just a few hours ago, studio co-founder Jeremy Stieglitz teased the addition of a new structure that seems to have something to do with scooping. There’s been lots of chatter about dynamic bridges within the community.

Ark: Survival Evolved is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, OS X and Linux. For even more content, feel free to check out our updated underwater base building guide.
