Next "Assassin's Creed" Game's Setting, Characters And Release Date

While many "AC" fans have long been wanting the next game to be set in China or Japan, it appears that these locations are not on Ubisoft's list. Apparently, the upcoming series installment would be set in Europe in a familiar era. These details came from industry insider and YouTuber Jonathan and reported by Comicbook.

The insider is a reliable one as he had been giving accurate information about "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla" long before it was announced and confirmed by Ubisoft. According to the report, Jonathan has been providing clues about the next "Assassin's Creed" game. Apparently, these clues hint that the game would bring players to the Third Crusade.

Ubisoft might be preparing "Assassin's Creed 2020" to be launched on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Scarlett. Ubisoft

The Crusade, led by the Holy Roman Empire, Angevin England and France targetted to take over the Holy Land from Ayyubid Sultan Saladin. According to the report, this implies that the game would be set after the first "Assassin's Creed." It adds that the game might be set at a particular period toward the end of the Third Crusade and perhaps after it, which is between 1191 and 1199.

Cities like Dubrovnik, Paris, Cologne, Vienna, Corfu and Acre are reportedly hinted at, including the presence of Richard Lionheart. Players may take the role of a new protagonist named Edmund, the report adds. The clues also suggest that the next "Assassin's Creed" game would come out in 2022, which means that no "AC" title would be launched this year.

Codename, Size And Other Details

Meanwhile, YouTuber Rafiti also shared some details about the next "AC" game recently. According to him, Ubisoft might not release a major "Assassin's Creed" title in 2022. Instead, he believes that the next title would be similar to "Far Cry New Dawn."

If this is the case, then fans could expect it to be a smaller, standalone game connected to the major titles of the "AC" series. The YouTuber also confirmed that the codename of the next "AC" project is indeed Meteor.
