Ubisoft is currently offering Discovery Tours that are tied to the games Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. These are free-to-download and can be kept on the PC. These Discovery Tours offer players a chance to go behind the scenes into the historical settings of the games.

IGN reported that players can finally go on a virtual tour in the ancient worlds that they have encountered in the games while they played as Bayek and Alexios/Kassandra. These tours are guided and curated by historians, and offer a sort of ‘learning online’ about the ancient civilizations of Greece and Egypt, with help from historical experts.

A tweet from Ubisoft revealed how players can take the Discovery Tour of Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt. They can download and keep this as part of the “Play Apart Together” initiative. In addition to the two games, there are other games made available at the Ubisoft website — Might & Magic Chess Royale and Rabbids Coding! are also free to keep under this initiative.

The Play Apart Together program is an initiative by the video game industry, with help from the World Health Organization (WHO), according to an article in the Medium by the initiative. It was launched in March encourage players to stay at home during the time of the coronavirus pandemic and follow the WHO’s health guidelines such as physical distancing.

To this end, the leaders of the gaming industry—companies like Activision Blizzard, Unity and Riot Games—have come together to promote the message of physical distancing and hand hygiene, among other things. These companies came together to help int he effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft has named its version of the ‘Play Apart Together’ campaign the ‘Play Your Part, Play at Home’ program. Under this initiative, the company hopes to keep people busy at home with its games. The promotion started Friday (May 15) and will run until May 21. During this period, players can download the free games from the Uplay website.
